Every morning, I record voice notes.
Just for me.
They help me land in myself — my thoughts, my energy, my truth.
It’s how I clear the noise and remember what matters.
Most days, it’s part of my rhythm.
But this one? I hadn’t recorded in a month.
And that gap stirred something real.
This is what I love.
This is how I show up for myself.
This is what connects me back to myself — and to others.
So why wasn’t I doing it?
Why We Don’t Do the Things We Love
It’s not because we’re lazy.
It’s not because we don’t care.
It’s because we live in a world that quietly pulls us away from our energy, our creativity, our voice.
We live inside systems — cultural, emotional, mental — that disconnect us from what we love. From our gifts. From our natural rhythm.
There are real forces at play:
Systems that reward busyness, not presence
Cultures that celebrate productivity over passion
Inner loops of doubt, fear, and perfectionism
So we tiptoe around our gifts.
We stall.
We wait for the “right moment.”
We get stuck in patterns:
Overthinking instead of doing
Replaying old stories like “I’m not ready” or “It has to be perfect”
Letting life and logistics take over
We try to earn our way back to what we love — like we need permission.
We keep our magic on the back burner.
What It Really Means to Show Up for Yourself
I saw a meme the other day that said:

“Showing up daily” isn’t about perfection.
We often think it means going full power every day. No breaks. No off days.
But showing up for yourself? It can look like 20%. It can look like messy. It can look like tired and true.
Even a single moment of clear, honest action counts.
How to Show Up for Yourself (Even with 10% Energy)
To show up isn’t to be flawless.
It’s to be present — even in tiny ways.
It means:
Taking the step before you feel fully ready
Giving energy to what matters — even in small doses
Reclaiming your voice, your rhythm, your timing
Practicing being yourself — without needing to earn it or explain it
Showing up isn’t about waiting for it all to be sorted.
It’s about giving yourself permission to begin.
You are the green light.
Here’s a beautiful example:
In Episode 1 of the Find Your Magic podcast with Owain Evans, we talk about what it really means to show up — imperfectly, honestly, and with heart.
A powerful listen if you need a reminder that showing up gets to look human.
Start Small. Trust Your Timing.
If you want to show up more — start here:
10 minutes of the thing
One message
One walk
One voice note
One reconnection with yourself
Do it because it matters.
Let go of the outcome.
Let it be light.
Your body knows when something is aligned. You’ll feel the lift.
And most of all: celebrate the showing up.
Even the 10%.
Especially the 10%.
You’re Not Behind. You’re Becoming.
If you’ve been stuck in waiting, prepping, or overthinking — come back to this:
Start.
Do the thing.
Trust your timing.
Let it be enough.
You’re not behind.
You’re not broken.
You don’t need to do more or be more before you’re allowed to begin.
You’re becoming.
You just need to start.
Practice.
And trust that every time you show up — even with shaky hands or half energy — it counts.
This is your permission slip.
Or maybe, just a reminder:
You never needed one.
