Code of Conduct
At Find Your Magic Retreats, we are deeply committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and welcoming community. We’ve put considerable effort into creating this environment, from carefully selecting our participants to providing opportunities for you to connect with others before embarking on your transformative journey together.
We celebrate the diverse backgrounds and identities of our community. Our retreats are a space where you can be your true self, regardless of orientation, identity, or background. We are dedicated to ensuring that everyone can enjoy the beauty of nature without experiencing harassment, discrimination, or misconduct. Here, we outline our expectations for behaviour, how to address any issues that arise, and our approach to resolving them.
These guidelines apply to everyone during any Find Your Magic sanctioned event, including social gatherings and other activities organised within our community platforms, both face-to-face and online.
The bottom line? Be kind, be respectful. If you encounter any issues, please reach out to us!
Respect and Inclusion
We value and respect each individual’s unique identity and experience. This includes a strong commitment to respecting LGBTQ+ individuals and creating a supportive environment for everyone. We expect all participants to honour and celebrate each other’s differences and to engage with kindness and empathy.
Leave No Trace
We are passionate about preserving the natural beauty of our retreat locations. We follow the Leave No Trace principles to minimise our environmental impact. This means respecting wildlife, disposing of waste properly, and leaving nature as pristine as we found it. Our commitment to nature mirrors our commitment to each other: we aim to protect and nurture.
Harassment Definition
Harassment includes any unwanted physical, verbal, or written conduct that disrupts an individual’s experience, whether it be during our events, in education sessions, or in social or recreational activities.
Sexual Harassment Definition
Sexual harassment encompasses unwanted sexual advances and any verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. We expect everyone to be mindful of their behaviour and its impact on others, ensuring that no one feels uncomfortable or unsafe.
Addressing Concerns
If someone makes you feel uncomfortable or if you have concerns about another participant, we want to hear from you. We are dedicated to addressing issues promptly and effectively.
Our co-founders, Ed and Rob, are available to discuss any concerns confidentially. You can contact them through our platforms.
We understand the need for privacy and may choose not to escalate certain situations based on your wishes. However, if the situation requires action for the wellbeing of others, we will inform you of our plans while taking every reasonable step to protect your anonymity.
Enforcement
Anyone who engages in inappropriate behaviour may face expulsion from the retreat, depending on the severity of the issue and the preferences of those affected.
Takeaway
Everyone makes mistakes. Acknowledge them, learn from them, and move forward. Continuous problematic behaviour is unacceptable and will be addressed accordingly.
We have dedicated individuals ready to listen and take your concerns seriously. Your attention to these guidelines helps ensure that Find Your Magic remains a safe, supportive, and transformative environment for all.
